Hello there members! A couple of things.

Firstly, I will be leaving for the west coast of Scotland tomorrow for a distillery trip, and will thus be out of the picture until Monday. You can still submit in the meanwhile, but be aware that there will be a slight delay. I hope to do some photography on this trip, but it'll mostly be mountains of peat I think!

Secondly, after your valuable comments on the clubs & favs issue, I have decided to do the easy thing: nothing. As some pointed out, this isn't really a major issue, and in fact the shots will get some exposure even when faved in the club gallery, so I guess it's not all bad. Having said that, the club still discourages faving in the club gallery. Hopefully dA will accommodate club accounts soon.

Thirdly, we have recently reached 3k pageviews! So go and have a pint!

To join the club, please watch us. We watch you back and you may begin to submit once you've been added to the club's watch list.. Feel free to watch the club if you only want to look at pretty pictures of mountains and hills as well, there's no obligation to submit! It will be appreciated if you could add a link or the club icon to your journal or signature to promote the club, but it is not required.

This is strictly a photography club, so only deviations in the photography category will be accepted. To start with, three (3) submissions per week are allowed, but only one on a single day. To submit a photo, send a note with the subject "Submission" and a link to your photo. The club will not flood its watchers, so, depending on the volume, only 4-10 shots will be added to the club gallery at a time.

It will be at the admin's discretion to decide which shots fit the theme, but generally a wide interpretation applies: shots taken on a hill walk/hike are fine, even if they don't feature a hill/mountain per se (trees, lakes, rivers...). However, it must be clear that the shot is from a hilly or mountainous region. Also, I would like to keep the standard of the club high, so please only submit quality shots! See the club's favourites for examples.

I'm a keen hill walker and an amateur photographer. I decided to establish this club when I noticed that there is no active club devoted to the theme, yet there are some extraordinary hill & mountain related shots on dA. I hope that together we can make this a successful club with high standards and share our love for hills & mountains!
